Ps4 Warhammer 40k Inquisitor Martyr Story Mission Won t Continue

1st Story Walkthrough

There are zero missable story related achievements. Most of these will pop after certain missions in each chapter. As a note, the achievements for the story were added in later as DLC, the story missions will show up under the DLC "Season 1." We felt we didn't need to separate that into a different chapter.

A quick word on the character selection

There are two character-based achievements to consider. Depending on which character you select, you'll be working on one of these achievements during the story. If you have also purchased the DLC with this game, you'll have one more to consider (tech-adept, which we have in another section but will mention here).

If you select the Tech-Adept class (again only if you have the DLC), there are a TON of achievements tied to this character to work on. We highly recommend picking this class to work on those, as the other two character achievements are not nearly as bad. If you want to see those, head over to the Tech-Adept DLC section of this walk through to see what you need to do ahead of time.

  • Judge and Jury

    You have executed 50 enemies.

    Judge and Jury

If you select either the Crusader or Assassin class for this walkthrough, you'll work on the execution achievement. This achievement is discussed in detail in the Long Term Achievements section.

  • Perils of the Warp

You have created 100 warp anomalies.

    Perils of the Warp

If you select the Psyker class, the achievement you'll work on this run is for creating warp anomalies. This is a pretty easy one to grind out, so we would recommend one of the above classes for the purposes of your long-term character you'll spend the most time on.

The Martyr: Chapter 1

(The Abandoned Colossus, The Cage, The Expedition)

These missions will show the general mechanics of the game. There are a few achievements you can already earn in these sections.

  • Chosen Warrior

You have equipped your first Relic item.

    Chosen Warrior

There is also a chest in these early missions that may or may not drop the relic item required for this. The Wind was lucky enough to get this right off the bat, otherwise, you'll most likely find this playing through the game. Since we got it early, we are listing it here as the first place you can obtain. A relic item will be of orange quality when you view it in the inventory.

Continue playing through these opening missions to learn the various mechanics of the game. Once you complete all these starter missions, the Martyr will teleport away and you'll be sent back to your ship.

The Martyr: Chapter 2

(Saving Caius Thorn, Hunt for the Martyr)

  • The Plot Thickens

You have saved Caius Thorn and left the "Martyr".

    The Plot Thickens

Once you are back on your ship, you'll unlock the first story related achievement for meeting Caius.

There is A LOT of info and areas to explore in the hub. Between crafting, skill trees, missions, etc, there is too much to cover here. For the sake of this guide, we'll only discuss the aspects related to achievements. If you want to learn more about the different parts of the hub, the in-game tutorials will do their best to brief you on it all. Otherwise, some various searches on the web can help out.

  • All Matters Biological

    You have found Metrodora Thelema.

    All Matters Biological

Progressing on, you'll be tasked with finding a "Magos Biologis" who is the medic needed to save Caius. There will be three different locations you can look for the medic in, once you find the right place, you'll rescue the medic and return to your ship once more.

  • Servant of the Omnissiah

    You have found Omicron Arkh.

    Servant of the Omnissiah

Once the medic joins your ship crew, you'll have further main missions to complete in this chapter. At about this point, we did a few side missions to gain some levels and try out different builds and equipment. If you want to press on, the next main missions will task you with finding a certain tech-priest. After going through a few more missions, you'll rescue the Omnicron Arkh and he will join you back at your ship. Talk with him to unlock this achievement.

  • Adept of the Lost Arts

    You have unlocked Uther's Tarot.

    Adept of the Lost Arts

After getting back to the ship and talking with a few characters, we have one more achievement left in this chapter. This is also another story related one, and can't be missed. This achievement comes from recovering the "Uther's Tarot" relic after you fight a boss. This should come at nearly the end, if not at the end, of this chapter. You'll get this one when you actually pick up the relic from the Nurgle boss.

Now that we have the crafting master on the ship, we'll break away from the main missions for a bit to talk about the side missions, and other achievements you can unlock now.

Priority Missions & Random Missions

  • Uprooting Evil

You have completed 5 Priority Assignments.

    Uprooting Evil

The next item to talk about is the Priority Missions. These are accessed by the man right next to the navigation wheel, whose name is Astropath Remiguis Klemet. Every 24 hours he will allow you to accept a new mission. These are multi-part missions where you try to maximize your success bar while minimizing the collateral damage. In the first part, you'll have the option to select a choice that will increase your success, and possible increase the collateral. I always looked for the option that had a green increase in success and tried to minimize collateral. If you are doing these in co-op, note that only the person who accepted the priority mission will get progress towards the achievement.

Since The Wind and I were doing co-cop, we did 5 of these on our own.

  • Perfect Record

You have completed an entire Priority Assignment sequence without dying.

    Perfect Record

If you manage to complete every mission in the priority assignment string without dying, this will also unlock.

Since these can take some time to complete, we would usually do about one a day while working on other missions.

  • All Kinds of Trouble

You have completed at least one mission from every type on the StarMap.

    All Kinds of Trouble

The last item to discuss is the random missions you can access anytime during the game. If you go into the "mission deployment" screen by hitting cn_LT while on the bridge, you can then hit cn_RB over to Random missions.

These vary in difficulty, length, objectives and are randomly generated from time to time. The achievement connected to these is for completing one of every mission type on the star map. The different mission types are as follows:

  • Purge
  • Nurgle Infestation
  • Daemonic Incursion
  • Hunt
  • Assassination
  • Panic Room
  • Silence the Guns
  • Bunker Busting
  • Data Hunt
  • Rescue
  • Siege

I will note we had some issues getting this to unlock. In particular, we had to replay missions Data Hunt and Rescue for the achievement to unlock. The best advice here is to keep track of which missions you've completed. At the end of the list, if it doesn't unlock, you can try the ones we had to replay, or start from the beginning of your list and go over again. We tried to focus on this achievement in this point in the story to bump our levels up and get it out of the way. Once done, the following achievement is yours.

The Martyr: Chapter 3

(Klosterheim, Revelations, Machine Spirit, The Secret Weapon, Rebellion Missions)

  • Lord Inquisitor

You have found Lord Inquisitor Klosterheim.

    Lord Inquisitor

Online Game Mode Single Player Cooperative Main Storyline

After you do the above missions or not, you'll proceed on to chapter 3 in the Martyr missions. Most of the missions here won't have any significance on morality choices or achievements. The first achievement you'll get, which is also story related and is unmissable, is for meeting Inquisitor Klosterheim. Just keep doing the missions in this chapter here until you meet Klosterheim for the first time, and you'll unlock this achievement.

  • Questionable Intents

You have senteced Klosterheim to death.

    Questionable Intents

In this achievement, you must "sentenced" Klosterheim to death.

Keep proceeding on the missions, where you learn about the fate of your memory and connection to Klosterheim. Again keep doing the missions here until you finally get to the last mission in the chapter where Klosterheim tells you the truth about his mission and finding the Martyr. You will then be faced with an important decision to either kill or spare Klosterheim. There is an achievement connected to your morality decisions at the end of the game. For this walkthrough, we will be going with the Puritan path. So choose to kill Klosterheim and get this achievement unlocked.

Any morality decision going forward in the 1st walkthrough we always want to select the Puritan option!!

The Martyr: Chapter 4

(Van Wynter Legacy, Through Fire and Flames, Uther's Tomb)

Not much to note about this chapter besides two achievements. You'll begin this chapter by doing several missions for Cpt Van Wynter. This will mostly be the same style of missions, with nothing making an impact on your achievement progress. Progress through these missions using whatever means you want, and as always keeping in mind the long term achievements discussed in the previous area.

  • Judgement Has Been Served

    You have killed Flavius Draken.

    Judgement Has Been Served

At one point you will begin tracking down another Inquisitor named Inquisitor Draken. When you start hearing this name come up more and more, you will know you are getting close to another achievement. This one, much like when we met Inquisitor Klosterheim, will net an achievement based on your morality decision. Once you finally come face to face with Inquisitor Draken, we will choose the puritan route and choose to kill him. Doing so will unlock this achievement.

  • The Key

You have found the Rosette of Uther Tiberius.

    The Key

Online Game Mode Single Player Cooperative Main Storyline

Once you have dealt with the Inquisitor, you'll be back on the grind of regular missions for the story. If you ever get lost, just look for the next mission listed under "The Martyr" missions. After a good few missions, you'll finally come to one of the last missions in this chapter. During one of the missions, you'll be tasked with finding Uther's body. After chasing him down through various systems, you'll finally reach the last resting place of Uther.

This achievement is story related, and cannot be missed. Once you get to the end of the mission and pick up the "Rosette" of Uther, you'll unlock this achievement.

This will wrap up the 4th chapter, and gets us on the road to the final chapter.

The Martyr: Chapter 5

(The Alpha Pariah, The Thing in the Walls)

  • Chamber of Secrets

You have entered the Stasis Chamber.

    Chamber of Secrets

Online Game Mode Single Player Cooperative Main Storyline

Now onto the final chapter in the Martyr storyline, where we will have but a few achievements left for us. We have two more achievements that we will obtain in this walkthrough. The first is just connected to the story missions. By going through these last missions, you'll finally enter the Stasis Chamber where your goal has been all along. Getting into the chamber will unlock this achievement.

  • Uther's Vision

You have left the Alpha Pariah with the Machine Spirit of the "Martyr".

    Uther's Vision

After you enter the chamber and deal with the boss here, you'll finally learn the true power behind the Alpha Pariah. Now, this is where the morality decisions come into play for us. Since we went down the Puritan route for the game, the machine spirit of the Martyr will lock you out. And in doing so, will take over looking after the Alpha Pariah. This will unlock this achievement in doing so.

This is it for the "Martyr" missions at this point. You'll watch another cut-scene (funny enough the exact same one when this all began) and this will wrap up chapter 5. We still have several story missions to complete, some of these you may have already completed. Otherwise, start up the following story arcs and complete these as needed.

Chaos Undivided

  • Chaos Undivided

You have killed Lord Antaroz, the Black Legion warlord.

    Chaos Undivided

After completing the main storyline connected to the Martyr, you'll be tasked with this story arc. In the "Chaos Undivided" missions you'll once again be grinding through several missions that won't have any story related achievements. Use this time to make progress towards whatever long-term achievements you may need as always. Once you get near the end of this story arc, you'll come face to face with another "boss". You'll know when this comes up when you see "Lord Antaroz" show up and spew some dialogue at you. Once he wraps up his speech, send him back to the warp by killing him.

Season 1 DLC Wrap-Up

  • ONLY WAR

You have reached Rank 50 and completed a mission in a Warzone.

    ONLY WAR

The only real thing left to do during this walkthrough is to hit level 50+ and go complete a mission in the Warzone area. Shout-out to Albert Scale for much of this info, as I followed this to get the achievement. By the end of all this, we were easily around 55-60 with several pieces of high-tier gear. If you are not, complete the other DLC part and level up to knock this one out the park.

Once ready, go to Tenebra Subsector > Lacaon System > Lacaon Maioris on the mission deployment screen. You'll have the option to begin the Warzone which will have several different nodes to select. Choose the only available one at the beginning, and proceed through the mission as normal. As stated before, if you are a few levels past the initial level 50 requirements this should be no problem. Otherwise, take your time to move through the mission and complete the objectives as needed. You'll only need to complete one mission in here to net this achievement.

A nice 40G for completing this one. After you complete the mission, you can either progress on completing missions if you want. Otherwise, just end the Warzone and head back to the ship bridge to get out of this.

Drukhari Menace

  • Scourge of the Drukhari

You have killed 1000 Dark Eldar enemies.

    Scourge of the Drukhari

This DLC will go through a series of missions that will net a few achievements specific to this story. One point to note is the following achievement for killing 1,000 Dark Eldar. This race won't just be in this story mission, instead, you'll find these in the random missions as well. We got this achievement very early on here due to the fact we played a lot of random missions for the "All Kinds of Trouble" achievement.

  • The Emperor's Justice

You have made a decision regarding the fate of a Psyker in the service of the Drukhari.

    The Emperor's Justice

Now on to the story-specific achievements. These we obtained just by playing through the story missions, none are missable. The first one you'll get is for making a morality choice when you encounter a Pysker in the story. Since this walkthrough we are going the Puritan route, make sure you also select that when deciding the judgement.

  • Painkiller

You have sabotaged the Drukhari master plan and destroyed all of the Pain Catalysts.

    Painkiller

Continue playing the appropriate storyline and you'll get this achievement.

  • Deliverance

You have eradicated the Coterie of Dissonance from the Triglav Subsector.

    Deliverance

Continuing on in the missions, you'll have another morality deal with. This comes up when you meet a traitor Dark Eldar that wants to join forces with you to wipe out the Dark Eldar in the current system. Again when you get this option, make sure you choose the Puritan route for this walkthrough.

This is the final achievement in this DLC.

Tide of Blood

Oh wow Morty, we got another DLC addition here. Bet the developers thought they were SO cool adding a section about the Khrone and tying into Caius Thorn. WHO LITERALLY HAS DONE NOTHING SINCE LIKE MISSION 2. Anyways, Morty, we gotta go on an adventure to help him sort out his chapter issues with the "Stormwatchers". Oooooh so scary. When are we going to get over this whole "everyone is fighting a secret war for the Emperor?" Morty I've been an Inquisitor for the Imperium of Man for like a thousand years now. Do you see me complaining about what happened to my chapter? No. Anyways guess we'll talk about this chapter.

  • The Blood Must Flow

You have killed 1000 Khorne enemies.

    The Blood Must Flow

Just like the other DLC added for the race, the first achievement you'll probably get for just doing missions with the Khrone is for killing 1,000 Khrone enemies. Very straight-forward to achieve. If you don't get this by playing random missions, you'll for sure get this by just playing through this DLC.

  • A Forgotten Place

You have unlocked the Agartha Subsector.

    A Forgotten Place

Much of this DLC revolves around Caius trying to find out what happened to his chapter and their HQ. This is the first story related achievement and cannot be missed.

  • Careful, Thorn!

You have judged Caius Thorn for his disobedience.

    Careful, Thorn!

At some point, Caius Thron will disobey your orders to remain on the ship and charge into battle. Roughly around this point, you'll have to decide what to do with Caius for his actions. Again with this walkthrough, we will be selecting the Puritan route. Although the achievement does not matter which option you select, for consistency sake this is the route we took during this 1st walkthrough.

  • The Bigger They Are…

You have destroyed Abraxas, the infamous Chaos Knight.

    The Bigger They Are…
  • Hunter of Hunters

You have killed 5 Boss creatures.

    Hunter of Hunters

The next achievement we are concerned with is when you enter into a giant mech. You'll have a rare vehicle combat-related mission in this story arc. Very easy to recognize once you actually get into it. Once you are storming around the battlefield blowing up buildings and enemies, you'll come to a point where you'll face another giant mech. I mentioned this part in the Long-Term achievements but will talk about it here.

The first achievement you will get is for just killing the enemy mech, named Abraxas, and is directly connected to completing the mission. Now, this is a great chance to farm the rest of the boss kills you need for "Hunter of Hunters" achievement. Just exit out to the Xbox dashboard and close the game, and then reload to start the mission again. Your achievement progress will still count as you killed the boss. Start the mission up again, and replay till you kill Abraxas again. Do this as many times as you need to also complete and earn:

  • Vengeance for the Stormwatchers

You have killed Kairn Golgarth, the Voidripper warlord.

    Vengeance for the Stormwatchers

The only other achievement left here is also a story related achievement and cannot be missed. This will come at the end where you must fight the last "boss" alongside Caius. Nothing major about the fight beside the usual. Once you do dispatch this character, you'll finally complete this story arc and earn yourself a nice 90G.

If you have the DLC, you'll now be able to strike out into the next story missions in "Prophecy." Check out that section next if you have the DLC.
